The curators of the exhibition, Richard Martin & Harold Koda, had organized its contents according to 12 types: the Cowboy, Hunter Sportsman, Man About Town, Businessman, Rebel, Dandy, Worker, Joe College, Military Man, & the Jock & the Nerd. According to Martin & Koda, the Jock and the Nerd are “roles that have arisen to new respectability in the present day.”
