FIT Student Project

Color Voyage France

The Museum at FIT recently partnered with Jada Schumacher, FIT associate professor of Communication Design Pathways, and students in her Color Voyage Design Studio class. These students spent the summer of 2018 in France as part of FIT’s study abroad program, where they visited Paris and Nice, cities of color and light.

The museum sought to support Prof. Schumacher’s class curriculum and to engage her students with the current MFIT exhibition Pink: The History of a Punk, Pretty, Powerful Color. While in France, the students used images and online resources to research topics addressed by the exhibition. Then they explored the cities, going on pink photography expeditions to hunt and capture images that reveal interesting, intentional, and notable uses of the color pink.
