The Museum at FIT presents Exhibiting Fashion, its twenty-first academic symposium. This symposium will explore the history of fashion curating, the different ways fashion is displayed in museum settings, and how national and regional identities influence fashion exhibitions. The symposium is organized in conjunction with Exhibitionism: 50 Years of The Museum at FIT, which commemorates the rich history of the museum, the site of more than 200 exhibitions since the 1970s.

As part of its ongoing 50th anniversary celebration, The Museum at FIT invites you to this panel discussion about fashion museums, the fashion industry, and the cultural heritage of fashion. Panelists will include Dr. Valerie Steele, director of The Museum at FIT; Professor Susan Scafidi, director of the Fashion Law Institute at Fordham University; and moderator Felicia Caponigri, an American lawyer and PhD student at IMT School for Advanced Studies in Lucca, Italy.
