Metallic gold leather cowboy boots by Fiorucci, 1973-1974

“In Fiorucci you are far from the elegant understatement of fine cashmere and slippery silk,” Eve Babitz wrote during the late 1970s. Fiorucci’s design philosophy centered on “recycling.” That entailed the reinvention of well-known objects–such as cowboy boots–into over-the-top fashion statements using materials like clear plastic or gold foiled leather.
