La Jolla “rhinestone cowboy” ensemble by Nudie’s Rodeo Tailors, 1964

Nudie Cohn, founder of Nudie’s Rodeo Tailors, defined the “rhinestone cowboy” aesthetic represented in this western wear shirt. Cohn’s designs were known for adding exorbitant amounts of embellishment to menswear standards such as suits. His pieces redefine the meaning of the cowboy and highlight the creative possibilities of glittering menswear.
