Zandra Rhodes’ 1981 Renaissance/Gold collection began with sketches for a hypothetical wedding gown intended for Princess Diana. The “Total Renaissance Look” that emerged in this collection playfully references–and modernizes–the Elizabethan silhouette through evening separates in pleated gold lamé and acetate.
